Sandra Wolter, Program Development

Brewing fantastic Coffee, telling great Stories, inspiring others - this is Sandra Wolter's passion. The German native grew up in a coffee family business. After formal training in the industry, Sandra ventured out to study Film and Journalism in Los Angeles and went on to become a TV reporter, working for a major network in Germany (NDR) for 15 years as a news reporter, as well as a freelance documentary filmer.

Wolter conducts University level courses in journalism, lectures on specialty coffee to small business owners and teaches hands on coffee preparation to people of all skill levels. She is a certified Barista with the Specialty Coffee Association of Europa (SCAE).

In 2015 Sandra decided to move to Washington DC to open her version of a true coffee lovers place: Sweet Science Coffee is a Coffeebar, school and meeting place for specialty coffee nerds and novices alike.

While looking for pictures for her bar, Wolter discovered that 90 percent of her private photos show either coffee drinks from different countries, the view from a plane or car or a combination of both. Therefore, travel and coffee are the logical next step. Combining her educational experience with passion for travel and coffee as well as inside contacts in the coffee industry, Sandra is excited to join Discovery Expeditions to create a unique and exclusive experience for travellers, interested in coffee and cultural history. A perfect way to brew fantastic coffee and tell great stories.
